How the LPG / PNG pipeline system works
A reticulated gas system supplies uninterrupted gas from a centralized cylinder bank or bulk storage facility to every end user through a network of pipelines — reaching the kitchen, bathroom or heating appliance in each home.
Storage pressure is stepped down to safe appliance-level pressure through a series of regulators. Automatic Changeover Regulators keep supply flowing even when a service cylinder bank runs out, while Under-Pressure Shut-Off (UPSO) and Over-Pressure Shut-Off (OPSO) regulators add further safety.

3-Stage Pressure Regulation System (PRS)
Cylinder pressure is reduced in three controlled stages — from the gas bank all the way to your stove — so gas always reaches your appliance at exactly the right, safe pressure.
PRS – I
At the centralized gas bank
Installed at the gas bank, with active and standby cylinder manifolds. Each manifold is a battery of cylinders connected in parallel to a common line.
- An Automatic Changeover Regulator switches to the standby bank the moment the active bank is exhausted — no interruption.
- The OPSO valve shuts off supply if pressure exceeds safe limits.
- Advanced leak detection provides an added layer of protection.
PRS – II
At the building basement / stilt level
Feeds the header and riser pipes that carry gas up to each individual flat.
- UPSO shuts off supply if outlet pressure drops due to a leak.
- OPSO shuts off supply if outlet pressure rises unexpectedly.
PRS – III
Before each flat's gas meter
Steps pressure down to the level required by the stove connection inside every home.
- UPSO instantly cuts supply if flow is interrupted or a burner is accidentally left open during downtime.
- To restore supply, close the burner and wait 1–2 minutes — eliminating any risk of leakage.

Prepaid Gas Meters
9sign prepaid gas meters are smart volumetric meters with a built-in prepayment function. Consumers top up via an IC card through the gas company's management system; the meter records the purchased volume and counts down automatically. If credit runs out or tampering is detected, the internal valve closes. Total consumed and remaining balance are shown on the LCD at the press of the Inquiry button.
AMR & AMI Gas Meters
